    Tushar Jain

Tushar Jain is a Mumbai, India-based poet, playwright, and author who brings three poems to the summer issue.  Mr. Jain merges minimalism, surrealism and cubism to his poetic works.  He shares “The structure of the poems is integral to their understanding. The core of the poetry is its insistence on resisting “total’ meaning and not to simply let the poem interact with the reader but also, with itself.” Tushar as the winner of the Srinivas Rayaprol Poetry Prize (2012) and a winner of the Poetry with Prakriti Prize (2013.) Subsequently, he won the RL Poetry Award (2014,) and in that same year, he was a winner of the DWL Short Story Contest for his short story “A humiliating day for [Dr.] Balachander.” In 2016, he won the Toto Funds the Arts Award for Creative Writing.  Mr. Jain’s work has been published in myriad international journals such as Antiserious, thenervousbreakdown, raedleafpoetry, papercuts, and elsewhere.
